Steps of Justice

God is amazing.
YWAM has opened my eyes to so many needs in the world and has been such a stepping stone for connections!
This DTS we are blessed to be working alongside Phil & Amy Cunningham, founders of Steps of Justice.

To sum it up, brilliant. God had revealed to Phil over time how screwed up our world really is. I agree with Phil, that as a Christ follower it's easy to feel content praying, reading the Bible, going to Church and inviting others along. However, that's a bit off.

Phil wrote a prayer focus on areas of injustice (sex industry, hunger, gender injustice, etc.) and realized he had stepped into a world that he could not step out of. After a while spent educating friends and acquaintances, he realized that wasn't enough, another step needed to be taken.

He began speaking in YWAM DTS's (Discipleship Training School's) during their lecture phase. The more he spoke, the more steps he saw that needed to be taken. He asked himself, "How can I go around talking about this stuff and not be doing anything about it?" He then created a Calendar/Prayer Action Guide that would help connect people to other ministries and ways of fighting injustice!

This guide is a creative way to present these issues to people over a period of 30 days, coupling prayer and action. (Free Download on website!)

Phil's partner, Wayne Shauan, has a simliar story. Thru YWAM you travel to other countries, it's just what we do. Wayne noticed that in every country - whether 1st, 2nd or 3rd world - each has a gross injustice; human trafficking, child labor, little boys being sold for sex, and sadly, many many more.

He would ask himself (a similar question I find myself asking) "What can one person do?" "What can be done?" God also revealed the idea for Steps of Justice to him.

Wayne's bio has a touching story. He and Phil were in Mexico with a bit of spare time on their hands and decided to see a movie. Upon exiting the theater a little man asked if they wanted to buy very young girls by the hour. It completely confirmed they were on the right path and could not slow down!

-If you are touched by this, I urge you to seriously take a step.

-Don't feel like you won't make a difference

PRAY & EDUCATE- Educate so we can pray effectively. Put these areas of injustice on other's hearts.
